As most of you know we are based in Glasgow and Paisley. We offer our high quality property clearance services in both Glasgow and Paisley but also surrounding areas.
We are sentimental about Paisley which is one of the largest towns in Scotland – and to be precise in Renfrewshire.
There is a lot to see and visit in Paisley for example most impressive Paisley Abbey – origins date from the 12th century (yeas built 7th century – 1163), based on a former Cluniac monastery. There are a lot of Scottish historically important people involved and connected to this church including William Wallace, Marjorie Bruce, daughter of Robert I of Scotland and wife of Walter Stewart, the sixth High Steward of Scotland. Also Paisley Abbey is the burial place of all six High Stewards of Scotland. Inside you may also see the Celtic Barochan Cross and the Wallace Memorial Window.
To find out more visit Paisley and the Abbey – there is information provided also on their website here >
Other places worth the visit are Paisley Town Hall, nearby the Abbey and funded by the will of George Aitken Clark (building is 140-year old), as well as Paisley Museum together with Central Library (1871), both in Neoclassical style – recently under the world-class renovation. The Town Hall should be open in 2023 and the museum in 2024. The library will be also moved to currently renovated building on the High Street.
There are other churches worth visiting like Thomas Coats Memorial Church, Trinity Church (Episcopal), The Roman Catholic Cathedral of Saint Mirin, and more.
For those of you who rather do not put churches on the bucket list there are other interesting points of interest like: The Anchor Mills (1886) – a remnant of Paisley's Victorian industrial heritage, Paisley War Memorial, Paisley Grammar School.
You may enjoy walking in the Barshaw Park and have a coffee in one of plenty coffee shops to choose from.
